A collaboration between H.A.M and six other Edinburgh-based graphic design agenices, exploring the concept of a city built by designers.

Named after the philosophical term for the experience of being, Da-sein is a hypothetical utopia, with H.A.M taking on and creating work based on the role of the ‘government’. The city affirms the power of design to create, improve and reshape an environment through visual communication. However, our concept also explored the prescriptive nature of design rules, and how easily a city built by designers could become a dystopia.
